Integrative & Alternative Therapy for Dogs & Cats in Racine, WI
Thoughtful options designed around your whole pet
Every pet experiences pain, mobility changes and chronic health concerns differently. At Angelcare Animal Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, we combine a traditional veterinary evaluation with carefully selected integrative therapies when they may support your pet’s comfort, mobility or overall care plan.
Our goal is not to choose between conventional and complementary care. It is to build an individualized plan based on your pet’s health, needs and quality of life.
What Is Integrative Veterinary Care?
Integrative veterinary care brings appropriate complementary therapies into a veterinarian-guided medical plan. Depending on your pet’s condition, that plan may include examination, diagnostic testing, medication, nutrition, rehabilitation strategies or other conventional treatments alongside services such as laser therapy or Veterinarian Orthopedic Manipulation.
At Angelcare, recommendations begin with the individual pet. We consider medical history, current symptoms, examination findings, medications, lifestyle and your goals before discussing whether an integrative option may be appropriate.

Integrative Services Available at Angelcare

Low Level laser
Working at a cellular level, the laser offers healing to fix the problematic cells. With specialized frequencies, this non-invasive treatment helps reduce pain naturally and targets issues at the root of the problem.

Veterinarian orthopedic manipulation
(vom)
Targeting the spinal column and its neural branches, any type of miscommunication is fixed relieving your pet of pain, gastric issues, and endocrine issues just to name a few.

Stem Cell Therapy
Using your pet's fatty tissue, we send off the sample to be made into a specialized therapeutic Protein Rich Plasma to be reintroduced to your pet's immune system. This will stimulate and regenerate tissue repair and growth.
Cancer patients also benefit with a molecule-targeted vaccine to promote strong anti tumor immunity.

whole food and vitamins
Carrying the best veterinary exclusive Dog and Cat food on the market to keep your pet in the best health. From urinary care, overweight issues, sensitive stomachs, and skin, we have their best interest at heart.
Why an Individualized Plan Matters
Pain, stiffness or changes in activity can have many possible causes. Treating a symptom without first understanding the pet’s overall health may delay more appropriate care.
Angelcare’s process is designed to:
-
Start with a veterinary assessment
-
Consider the whole pet—not only one symptom
-
Set realistic and measurable treatment goals
-
Combine therapies when medically appropriate
-
Reassess progress and adjust the plan as needed
Integrative therapies may be used alongside conventional treatment, but they do not replace needed diagnostic testing, emergency care or evidence-based medical treatment.

Who May Benefit From an Integrative Care Conversation?
An integrative consultation may be worth discussing if your dog or cat:
-
Has arthritis, stiffness or reduced mobility
-
Is recovering from an injury or procedure
-
Lives with a chronic condition requiring ongoing support
-
Has weight or nutritional concerns
-
Needs a multimodal comfort plan
-
Has not reached the desired goals with the current plan alone
-
Is a senior pet whose needs are changing
These signs do not identify a diagnosis. A veterinary examination helps determine the cause and the safest next step.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does “alternative therapy” replace regular veterinary treatment?
No. Angelcare uses integrative therapies as part of a veterinarian-guided plan. Your pet may still need diagnostic testing, medication, surgery, rehabilitation or other conventional care.
Is laser therapy painful?
Laser therapy is noninvasive, and many pets tolerate sessions comfortably. Your veterinarian will explain what to expect and monitor your pet throughout treatment.
How many laser-therapy sessions will my pet need?
The schedule depends on the condition, its severity and your pet’s response. Some treatment plans use multiple sessions followed by reassessment. Angelcare will provide a recommendation after examining your pet.
What is VOM?
Veterinarian Orthopedic Manipulation is an instrument-assisted technique used by trained veterinary professionals for certain mobility or musculoskeletal concerns. It is not appropriate for every pet, and an examination is needed first.
Can integrative therapies be used with my pet’s medication?
Sometimes, but the complete care plan should be reviewed by a veterinarian. Bring a current list of all medications and supplements so the team can identify possible conflicts and coordinate care.
Are vitamins and supplements safe for every pet?
No. The appropriate product and dose depend on the pet’s diet, health conditions and medications. Ask your veterinarian before adding a supplement or using a human product.
How will we know whether treatment is helping?
Before treatment, identify practical goals such as easier stairs, longer comfortable walks, improved range of motion or less difficulty rising. The veterinary team can use your observations and follow-up examinations to evaluate progress.
How do I schedule a consultation?
Use Angelcare’s appointment request form or call (262) 886-3337. Mention the service you are interested in and the changes you have noticed in your pet. Online requests are for non-urgent needs.
