Receptionist Job Description

As a receptionist it is up to you to generate business and keep our clients happy and informed. In order to generate business, you must be very willing to learn, not only about the kennel, but about training classes and animal health. It will be your responsibility to educate our clients about these services. There must also be no doubt in your mind that we are providing the best care available, and if at any time you don't feel that way, you should feel free to notify the right people so changes can be made and the morale of the staff can stay high.

A very important skill you must have or be able to acquire in a short period of time is the ability to handle multiple tasks i.e. answer multiple phone lines, check in or out multiple clients, etc. There will be several instances where you will be very busy and you must be sure that you don't miss any important information. A mis-scheduled appointment could cost us a client. You will be answering phones, making appointments, and making sure that the front area stays clean and smelling fresh. There must always be a receptionist at the Resort during training classes and after-hours events.

It is also very important for you to help other employees with things that may not be in your immediate job description. You may have to help the doctor administer vaccines, help the kennel technician, or assist trainers with their paperwork or classes. Remember we are here to care for clients' pets while they are away, and this includes important weekends and holidays. The specifications of your duties will be outlined for you but it is very important to ask questions and to absorb any and all information you can to better serve our clients and care for their pets.

We look forward to seeing your application soon!
