Surgical Information and Instructions for our Clients

 

***There are no real health benefits to Ear Cropping, Tail Docking, Dew-Toe Removal, and De-Clawing. These are strictly cosmetic surgeries.

Canine:

   Neuter / Spay                         -    after 4 months of age.

-         one night hospital stay

-         suture removal in 10-14 days

   Dental                                    -   *any age

-         go home same day

   Dewclaw Removal                 -    usually between 3-5 days old

                                                -    go home same day (possibly overnight stay)

   Tail Docking                          -    done between 3-5 days old

                                                -    go home same day (possibly overnight stay)

   Ear Cropping                         -    between 6 and 16 weeks, depending on breed

                                                          Large breeds should be done early

-    overnight stay at hospital

-    Hat Check in 5 days

-    suture removal in 10 days

-    2 ear postings also included (may need more)

Feline:

   Neuter                                   -   10 weeks or as soon as testicles drop

-         goes home same day

   Spay                                     -    14 weeks and up

-         one night stay at hospital

   De-Claw                                -    10 weeks and up

-          2 night hospital stay

   Dental                                    -    *any age

-         goes home same day

    

 *(over 4 years of age requires pre-anesthetic bloodwork to ensure your pet is healthy and can undergo anesthetic safely. Some animals may require pre-anesthetic bloodwork before age 4 because the doctor feels that they may be higher risk patients.)

 

 

Included: Hospital stay, anesthetics, and suture removal.
