Angelcare
Kennel Technician
Job Description
As a
Angelcare kennel technician, your primary duties involve
the care of the animals and the maintenance of our facility. You will be responsible
for feeding, letting out, exercising, cleaning up after (inside and out), administering
medications as needed, and bathing the animals in our care. Daily activity sheets
are kept on every animal in our care and are sent home with the animal's parents.
There are communication notebooks that you will be
required to write in to keep communication with the rest of the staff current.
If at any time you find that you cannot do something, or you have questions or
concerns, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to seek out someone who can assist you. All
playtime and exercise is to be supervised by a staff member. You will also be
responsible for bringing animals to and from the kennel during check-in and check-out
times. In maintaining the facility, you will be expected to keep the grounds clean
and free of debris, take out trash, and make sure all equipment is working properly.
If something is out of place, needs to be refilled, or needs maintenance, it is
your responsibility to put it back, refill it, or notify the manager to help with
the replacement of it.
Above and beyond all duties described
herein, it is also important for you to help other employees with things that
may not be your immediate responsibility. This may include helping the doctor
administer vaccines, helping the trainers set up for or assist
in classes. If it is busy, you may be asked to answer phones and/or check-in or
check-out clients.
We are here to care for our client's
pets, answer any questions they may have, and expel any of their concerns. Our
facility, and your position, may require that you be available on weekends and
holidays. The animals in our care cannot take care of themselves. Even if you'd
like to spend Christmas Day at home, you will be required to work at least one
shift per day at each major holiday.
The specification of exact duties are
outlined on shift check-lists, but it is also very important to ask questions
as they arise and to absorb all additional information that you can to better
serve our clients and make our care for their pets the very best that it can be.
We look forward to seeing your application soon!
