Welcome to Angelcare Pet Resort!
We'd
like to answer a few common questions we often hear to give you peace of mind
while you are away.
Q) Why choose Angelcare?
A) Angelcare Pet Resort has been in the pet care business since June of 1993. We have caring staff that have dedicated their time to making your pet feel at home. The pets in our care receive frequent human interaction, cuddle time, and are treated like our own. Unlike most kennels with guillotine-style doors to the outside, our facility allows for individual and personalized attention during potty breaks or cleaning. Our pet accommodations are completely indoor and climate controlled, and we actually leash the dogs to bring them outside to our large yards for potty breaks, where we then allow them off leash to roam a bit and find the "perfect" spot. Playtimes are done in our fenced in acre, with baskets of toys to choose from...and if you want your dog to have others to play with, sign up for supervised playgroup time! We offer small animal and feline playtimes as well. In addition, we have veterinarians on staff that can be called upon if your pet should require any medical attention.
Q) Are the kennels heated or air conditioned?
A) The kennels are climate controlled, according to the season. Cats are boarded in our designed-especially-for-feline fun room, in condominiums that come in three sizes: single, deluxe, and penthouse. Ferrets, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small animals are boarded in separate wings which allow for quiet boarding and frequent human interaction. Dogs are boarded in either bungalows according to size, or 4x7 feet long, indoor kennel runs. Our technicians are working in the areas about 90% of the day.
Q) How often will my pet get let out to go potty?
A) Dogs
are let out as often as possible, depending on who they can get along with and
where they are staying. Dogs boarded in the separate wings are let out at least
4 times a day for 5-10 minute potty breaks and dogs in the back kennel runs are
let out at least 2-3 times a day for 5-10 minute potty breaks. Larger and more
energetic dogs are oftentimes let out for extended periods of time - weather permitting
of course! Playtimes are once a day, which are 15-20 minutes
outside in our large acre and 3/4 acre yards. If your
pet is a fence jumper or even has a tendency toward stranger or dog aggression, please
let us know so that we may take proper precautions and maintain safety for everyone.
Cats and small animals are let out frequently, usually when we clean their boarding
areas. Kitty Kuddle Time and Small Animal Playtimes
are additional options.
Q) Will my pet get fleas?
A) We certainly hope not!
Our entire facility is tile or cement floored. All floors and cages are thoroughly
cleaned AT LEAST twice a day, oftentimes more. Pets are given a pre-entry check
and if fleas are found on a pet, the animal is immediately given a
Capstar and flea-shampooed, at the owner's expense.
We do everything possible to protect your pet, but unfortunately some animals
will bring fleas in undetected. This is a realistic situation anywhere where animals
are present. Therefore, we highly recommend an exit bath to
make certain that your pet doesn't go home with anything he or she didn't (or
possibly did) come in with. To prevent flea and tick infestation, we strongly
recommend and can supply Frontline Plus.
Q) Can I bring my pet's favorite toys and a blanket?
A) If the pet has favorite
toys, they should remain at home where they are safe and can welcome your pet
back home. We welcome rolled rawhides,
kongs, and nylabones
with your pet, but have a large selection of toys that will be present during
interactive playtime. We do NOT allow knotted rawhides, squeaky toys, tug ropes
or any other potentially hazardous toy to stay in the kennel with your pet. We
can only allow these items during supervised playtime. We also have a wide variety
of bedding and towels that are disinfected daily and distributed to your pet for
bedding. Your personal items are likely to get lost in our facility, as we change
and wash bedding daily, and we cannot be held responsible for those items.
Q) Do I need to bring food?
(This choice is yours.)
A) We feed Purina Hi-Pro or
Exceed. Purina is a beef and rice diet and Exceed is a chicken and rice diet. Our guests are fed once daily. If your pet
is used to eating more often, simply let our staff know and we would be more than
happy to implement your feeding schedule. Many pets who are first time boarders
may refuse food for the first 24-48 hours. If we notice an overly-stressed pet,
we may try home-cooked meals (scrambled eggs and rice, boiled turkey and rice,
etc) to entice your pet to eat. If you'd like this diet to be instituted for your
pet's entire stay, there is an additional charge of $8 per day. If your pet is
on a special diet, you are more than welcome to bring properly labeled food from
home, and simply let our staff know your pet's feeding schedule upon check-in.
Q) Can my pet be given his/her medications?
A) Medicine that is brought
in with your pet will be administered as per written instructions on the label
by your pet's veterinarian. If the medication is not properly labeled by the veterinarian,
it cannot be administered. Due to the additional time and care involved in handling
and treating an animal on medication, there is an additional charge of $5 per
day. Any injectable medication, (i.e. insulin, allergy
vaccine, etc), is $7.50 per injection.

call in advance to verify check-in and check-out times, as they vary. To avoid

for check out. Photo ID is also
